How can I find the safest car seat?

My 4 month old has almost outgrown his infant car seat, so I have to purchase another. Is there a website that can tell you what the rating is for different car seats? I want to know the ratings for safety...how they hold up in accidents.

  1. I go for Britax (Marathons are my choice) and Sunshine Kids Radian seats. They are the top rated seats in the nation.

  2. You can go to consumerreports.com and check the ratings, but I have already read up on this for when my son needs a carseat, and the Britax are the best!  They are pricey, but worth it if it is going to be the carseat to save your child.

  3. http://babyproducts.about.com/od/carseat...

i agree with the Britax recommendation. but this website might help you.

  4. Made by Britax, built like a Marathon, Fisher price name, Britax value at a not so high Britax Price.

    Fisher Price Safe Voyager Deluxe

    Rear to 33 lbs

    Forward to 55 lbs

Easy to install, not too fancy, easy to switch. High belt slots for maximum use. Super easy to tighten and loosen. Some can be hard, but this one is a breeze.

My son has used this seat rear facing since he was 4 months old, he is now 16 months and plenty of room to grow. We payed $130.00.

You tube has videos of real people doing reviews too if you want to check that out. Do not buy a 5 lbs to 100 lbs type with booster and all, SUCH A WAIST! They are like "to good to be true" type seat.

The safest seat it one that is properly installed. I suggest getting whatever seat you do choose professionally installed by a car seat tech. Even if you think you know everything you need to know about installing your seat, there is plenty more to learn. I went 2 times and learned more each time.

Rear facing as long as possible is best.

  5. I would recommend a Britax.  I have had three Roundabouts, and LOVED them!!  They are safe, durable, easy to install!!

  6. I would Google carseat safety and see what you get.  Something should lead you to a listing of the safest car seats.  We have a Britax, and I've heard those are some of the ones to peform the best in crash testings.

  7. ok i found out i hope this helps. http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/babie... maybe it wont help its for infant car seats. but you can look around the sit you might find the other seats. good luck

  8. google it dude....we have technoligy
