Question:

How can I firm my stomach without going to the gym? Exercise from home?

I don't know the first thing about exercise I have to admit! I'm a 21yo male, 6ft and am pretty skinny (30-32" waist) - however, I have very little muscle and am noticing more lately that although I'm not putting on weight, my stomach does seem to have a lot of excess skin.

Therefore, I want to try and firm my stomach - however, I'm not keen on the idea of going to a gym. My nearest gym isn't that local or friendly, and I'm not a big fan of the whole 'gym' thing anyway - although would consider swimming.

What exercise can be suggested that would help tone up my stomach and that I could do from home? Thanks!

  2. You sound like the exact same criteria as myself lol ...im 6ft 2, skinny and also have quite excess skin in my stomache and i really do not want to have to venture to the horrible gym down the road. You need to buy a fitness press up bench. Argos - under £20,/ 30euro. I have been told you will firm up no problem with one of these inventions. I myself have not gotten round to purchasing one. but it is on the horizon Hope we have some luck lol ...

  4. There are literally loads of stomach exercises you can do at home so don't worry you won't have to join a gym, although I would recommend adding a cardio exercise routine as well, like swimming or running. Both of these are good for your abs but mainly will allow you to train your body as a whole. You can create more problems by only training one body part.

I write a fitness blog and one of my favourite subjects is abdominal training. I have included all the best exercises for your abs and the only equipment you will need is a floor and yourself.

Visit http://beebleblog.com/category/abs/ where there are videos to make sure you get the technique perfect.

As for quantity you should start with 20 at a time with a 30 second rest followed by another 20 and so on until you can't do a full 20. This way you are taking the muscle to fatigue and therefore will see change.

I hope this helps and good luck!

  5. sit-ups and push ups,

  6. A good one for that is sit ups. Really tones and firms up the stomach.
