  1. there should only be two wires...but if there is a ground, it will be obvious. the other two don't matter because they are the same wire broken a the switch. If the switch is part of a three-way ciricuit, (two switches for one light) copy the same wire-up  from the old switch to the new one.

you can remove and reconnect one wire at a time, or try drawing a picture-diagram.

  2. You don't say how many red wires you have in the switch. The earth is yellow/green,but you might not have an earth.Find someone competent to do it,for your safety.

  3. there shoudl only be 2 red wires maybe a copper ground that attaches to the side, doesn't matter which way you hook them up, if it is a standard light switch

  4. wrap the wires in different coloured insulating tape when disconnecting them

  5. Make a note of what wire goes where and connect new switch the same way You are putting a switch on to a live wire after all

  6. It depends on how many wires and what type of switch. Either rewrite your question with more detail or get a qualified electrician in. Otherwise you could end up in a mess, and never forget to ensure the supply is off for that circuit and test that it's off before working on the switch..
