How can I fix a pocket door for my bathroom?

It's the kind that slides into the wall. When I try to fix it one side of the rollers get on track, but then the other one doesn't. I think one of the metal piece that hold the roller is bent, how can I bend it back so it's straight? Also, I don't want to have to break the wall to fix the door. If I really have to, then who should I call to come and do this, how much is it going to cost?

  1. Though's doors are nice but they are pain in the butt when you have to fix them. The wall is going to have to come down in order to get inside and fix the metal. If you don't have friends or family that could help with this project then look in the paper for a handy man and ask him to give you a price before he starts the work. Have him price the job out by the job not by the hour. My guess is that your looking at about $150.00 not including materials.

  2. Take the door stop off.  That's the piece of wood that sticks out from the facing that holds the door in place.  With that removed the door should fit through the opening.  Swing the bottom out and lift the door off the track.  Do what you need to do to the metal (You can even get replacement rollers) and reverse the above to replace the door. Good luck.
