I worked really hard painting a box, and somebody threw it on the ground. The wood split near the handle, and it's cracked and coming apart in layers.

I just have to fix it. Is there a way I can glue or clamp it where it split, then sand it down and re-paint? Please help... I worked really hard.

  1. A good glue and clamps and the repair will be stronger that the original. Elmers wood or paper glue is good since all presswod is is paper.

  2. I would use regular wood glue I had the same thing happen to me once and glue fixed it right up sorry about your box and Good Luck

  3. Use Gorilla Glue and clamp the split overnight.

  4. If it's coming apart in layers you cannot glue pressed wod back together like that...You can however get a small piece of pressed board and attach over the top of this..I see what the other people say about this..but no way..when the layers are coming apart..You cannot succesfully glue all these layers back in place ..
