My Trucks lease is about up and I do not want to get charged for any body repair. The scratch happened in a car wash.

  1. Sorry, but if it's that wide and long, repainting is the only cure......Unless it's just scuffed the surface of the clear coat. Take it to a body shop and ask if it can be buffed out.

  2. if you just use touch up paint on it will be really noticeable, you can try it though ,any advance auto parts now carries a complete line of auto touch up paint for the newer models,it may turn out to be more noticeable than the actual scratch is though ,good luck.

  3. Well if its down to the primer its touch up paint only but if its not that deep you can use rubbing compound and keep buffing until its not as visible.  GOOD LUCK!!!      PS. hope you"ve got insurance!!!!

  4. It depends how deep it is. You might be able to take some polishing compound and rub it out. But if you can see depth to the scratch then it has cut too far into the paint and you will have to take some touch up paint to it. The thing with touch up paint is that it works great when you are looking at the car from a distance, but when you get up to it, you can see where the car has been touched up. But try polishing compound first before you do anything else. Good luck.
