How can I fix my daughters bedroom door?

When I try to drill screws in the door the screws just slide out causing the door to lean therefore, I can't close or lock it. Do I need to replace the door or is there a simple fix to the door?

You will either need to get longer, larger diameter wood screws or you will need to get a strong wood filler that will hold the screws. Check out the hardware stores for the options.

Stuff tooth picks or wood match sticks into the holes and insert the screws. The tooth picks gives something for the s***w threads to bite into.

One option (about the best) is to drill a slightly larger hole the same size as a wood dowel (about 3/8 inch generally works) where the screws don't hold and glue in a piece of dowel the proper size and, when the glue is dry, drill a pilot hole for the s***w and then the s***w(s).

Extra long screws that can reach the stud behind the frame is the best bet.  The screws are normally just about an inch to and inch and a quarter long and only held by the door frame.  Slide a thin pices of something into the hole until it hits the stud.  Measure the distance.  You need a few screws about a half inch to three quarters of an inch longer than that. You can tighten those screws to return the door to its proper positon.  Just avoid over-tightening them which will cause the frame to warp.

You can try slightly longer screws or slighly larger (fatter) screws. If that fails, you'll need to fill in the old s***w holes with wood and wood glue then drill to correct size.
