Question:

How can I fix my dvd player if it just gets stuck on the 'loading' screen and won't play the video?

I've tried various dvd's and the same thing happens. I can hear it trying to spin the dvd, but seems to be stuck. Is my player a goner or is there something I can do?

  1. Your best bet is to try to clean the DVD player. Disks are out there as well as the option of a pro cleaning.

  2. Sounds like the actual laser is going out. If it is an expensive DVD player a repair shop should be able to repair this easily. If it was a low cost one you may be better off just replacing it.

  3. If the problem happens on all the DVDs you put in, it seems like the laser, or the digital to analog converter is broken and I would not suggest that you send it to the shop anymore. You can buy up scaling DVD players for $60, sometimes even less than $50, so I would suggest that you go ahead and purchase a new one.
