How can I fix my wireless connection?

I have a D-Link Router- 524 and it was just set up however every 15-20 mins my labtop gets kicked off from the Internet and then my main pc loses connection and I have to Unplug and Replug the D-Link Routers power cord to get connection again I dont know why this is happening!

  1. I had many issue with such router in regards to wireless connection. I just ended up buying a better one.  Try updating firmware.

  2. looks like your experiencing an intermittent connection. here as are some pointers that you might want to consider to help you identify w/c is causing the problem.

    1. try to connect to the internet without using the router so if you have a dsl modem just try to connect it straight to the computer using the ethernet cable and observe if the connection would still be dropping off, if it is you may wanna try to contact your ISP about it but if not just proceed to the next step below..

    2. check the configuration settings of your router or may wanna try to change the channels for your router and choose whichever works for you or if you dont know how to do it just call the manufacturer of your router.

  3. I'd say go to Dlink's web site and see if there is a firmware update.  If not, I'd send that bad boy back to the store and get another.

  4. I would return that one and get a Linksys wrt54g router and upgrade the firmware.

  5. It may be your ISP's problem.  Contact them.
