I recieved a Pioneer HTS-GS1 for Christmas over a year ago and recently, about a month ago, I noticed a strange sound coming from my subwoofer. The sound can be described as a squeak and occurs when the bass is at a certain level. I tried unplugging and reconnecting my system but the sound still occured. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

  1. One thing that I would check is to make sure that all of the speaker screws are tight.  Another thing that you could do is turn down the gain on the sub.  Too much gain could cause the issue.

  2. Well I have a gold plated subwoofer cable because I didn't want to run into the same problem and there is no squeak sound that comes out of the subwoofer even when it is a max level I would recommend you get a gold plate cable and you don't have to buy the expensive one either I bought one that was only 20 bucks at bestbuy and it works awesome!
