How can I fool my alarm system into thinking my door is closed when it's open?

I need to sneak out the back door of my house tonight without setting off the alarm. If I turn off the alarm the noise the keypad makes will likely alert my parents. I have a conventional alarm system, and the back door is a single wooden door that's similar to what many people have for a front door.

there should be a sensor in the top of the door. not the door jamb but the door if you pull this sensor out and tape it to the sensor on the jamb TADA your alarm should think that the door is still closed.
