I already tried calling and asking them. They said I have too many revolving accounts, and too much debt. I have explained to them that many of the accounts are inactive, yet they wont listen and continue to lecture me on my "poor credit" I need my limit increased so I can buy some food. All I have in my fridge are some waffles and water. My paycheck is already gone because of my car insurance, which is also too expensive.

  1. You can't force them.  They certainly won't change your limit if they consider you a risk.  They want to make money off you, not lose.  The best you can do is ask them to raise it.  If they won't and you can get a card with a higher limit and a decent interest rate then you can cancel the other card and tell them the reason you did is that they wouldn't raise your limit.

  2. You can't force them but if you pay off your balance they might.

  3. You can't force them, but you can call them up and ask them.

Most will (upon request) review your account for an increase every 12-18 months.

  4. And how much is your credit to debt ratio, granted the debt is not high but if your income is not either that could be a difference. Next you closed accounts because of late fees? Looks like you may be a credit risk to them. Check to see what your score is. Want to force them to raise your limit, pay them off then state if they will not raise them will go somewhere else.

  5. You can't force them to increase your limit.  An increase would be based on your credit worthiness.

It sounds like you need to get on a strict budget and start living within your means instead of running up credit card debt.

  6. demand that you want to bury your self in tens of thousands while paying 20% intrest so you can contribute to to the millions of others who are in that boat

  7. Sounds like you need to get on a written budget. You're money doesn't know what to do, so it's acting on it's own. Take control.

  8. you have too much debt.  why would they give you more credit if it means you're going to continue to incur more debt which you probably can't pay back.

  9. You cant force them, just ask them nicely.
