Question:

How can I form a proposal for Recycling?

I recently talked to the general manager of the restaurant I work for about how we don't recycle at the restaurant. It turns out that the entire mall doesn't recycle! So even if our restaurant began sorting our garbage, it won't matter because once it gets put out in the dumpster, the mall maintanence just puts everything into a trash compactor. This bothers me because a mall is such a big establishment which means TONS of garbage and I think it is very irresponsible of the mall not to recycle all the garbage that it's stores and restaurants produce. My boss told me that he would support me if I write a proposal about how the restaurant or even the mall can recycle and he will present it to them. I have yet to brainstorm some great ideas, but I don't know where to start. Are there any good websites I can go to because I don't even know where to begin. All I know is that it is very careless not to recycle when one location can produce so much garbage in just an hour. I want to research recycling procedures and I want to know how to write a proposal. Any good websites or advice for those? Thank you for reading.

  1. get a big bristel board and have people that work at the mall and people who shop at the mall sign it. by signing it that meens they agree that the mall should have a recycling bin

  2. I have found that if you recycle the aluminum cans that your co-workers toss they will get very interested when they find out you are making money off them!

  3. I'm in total agreement with you on this subject! It irks me that while the little guy is doing all he can to go green, the big junkers are just shrugging their shoulders and ignoring the problem. It was one of my first issues at a new job I just started... they don't recycle either, and it would make such a big difference if they did, and they're not even a big place, but they do create a lot of trash. Anyway, I looked into grrn.org for some info and it looks like a reasonable site to visit for the information you're looking for. I would also check with your local Chamber of Commerce and see if they can give you any tips... they are very resourceful. I think I will do the same, as I am finding it very difficult to turn my back on this issue. It's too easy & makes too much sense for people to do anything about it. (being sarcastic) At least you have some support with your idea & your endeavor. All I've gotten so far is funny looks!
