How can I found out the amount a house is worth, or sold for without doing an appraisal and making and offer?

Basically, I dont wanna pay for an appraisal I want to see if I can get the information through public records or something. How do I do this. I need to buy several houses though.

Zillow.com is good, but netronline.com is better.

go to www.zillow.com and search for the address, its not completely accurate always on the said value of home, but it might have info on previous owners and what it sold for. Or call a real estate office and have a realtor look up the tax records.

Zillow.com isn’t reliable. I can’t figure out where it gets its values, but they’re usually far from accurate.

You can’t get an accurate number without an appraisal, and those are only done upon request.
