How can I gain upper body muscle for lacrosse? I'm 5ft 7.5 in, 118 pounds and I want to gain alot of upper body muscle using freeweights as little as possible because the gym I go to doesn't have that many. What non freeweight machines are the best for getting more bicep, triceps, pectoral, etc. other upper body muscles???

  1. More snacks?

  2. First do some push ups.  And learn to do the many variations to doing push ups.  These variations will target different areas of the arms and chest so it'll help in building the whole chest and not just one part of the chest or arm.  There's the regular push up, the wide push up where you place your hands a little further out than you usually would with the regular push up.  Then there's one we call "diamond" push ups where you basically are placing your hands are really close to each other and your index and thumbs are touching forming a diamond shape.  Also theres a variation where you do a push up but you push yourself up in the air and clap your hands really quick and then catch yourself.  Then there's the one handed push up.

Also try pull ups/chin ups.  Do the one where your palm is facing away from your body if you can.  But you can always switch it up to the other one where your palm faces your body.  Both are good but I like to do the first one.  They're harder to do.

Surprising jumping rope works your arms too as well as the rest of your body.  If you're not that good at it, keep it up and keep trying.  Once you get pretty fast at it, your arms will burn if you do it for a while.  Awesome cardio work out and not to mention will help with your speed and agility.

Also don't forget to stretch because believe it or not that does help with building muscles.  Good luck and have fun.  And remember it's not going to be easy so don't give up too quick.  Keep at it.

  3. 5' 7" and 118 lbs. OK?

1st, hit up micky D's for a couple double-qt pounders and fries.

2nd, try a dam pushup, w 118lbs, your bench max is what, like 85 lbs

3rd, do a pullup, works entire arm, should be easy for you, only 118lbs

4th, if that doesnt work, roid it up, cuz you tiny, 118lbs please.
