How can I get Arabic channels in the States?

Question

I want to get the free to air channels. DirectTV and those ask a lot for a little bit of channels, so its not worth it. Any inexpensive satellite packages to get FTA channels in the middle east like rotana, aljazeera, al alam, etc. or to just pick up arabsat network?

FTA channels are free, so you're not going to have to buy any kind of package to get these channels.

You'll need an FTA receiver, if you don't already have one.  If you have HD, I recommend the Sonicview 8000 HD.  If not, the Sonicview 360 Elite.  Both can record, and have dual tuners (this means you can record two different channels at the same time, or record one while watching another).  They also have USB ports, and Sonicview has the best and fastest support of any of the manufacturers.  Both of these receivers are on sale by Sonicview for the month of July.  Look for an authorized dealer which accepts this coupon:

You're also going to need a satellite dish.  For foreign channels, you're probably going to want at least a 30", Ku band elliptical dish.  You can find these online from $80 - $120.
