I am trying to get into a very competitive program at a university. One of the requirements is that you have a minimum of a 2250 on the SAT or a minimum of 34 on the ACT. I am a good student, but these scores seem hard for anyone to achieve. I'm going into my sophomore in high school, so I have somewhat a lot of time.

  1. 34? be born with a huge brain and talent in academics for a 34, no sereously thats insane....

  2. Good for you for aiming high!!

Unfortunately, I can only tell you what you don't want to hear and probably already know: There's no magic answer; you have to put in a lot of time and energy studying and taking practice tests. Do whatever it takes to motivate yourself!

    Good luck, you'll do great!

  3. There is this site called number2 or www.number2.com. They have free online sat, act, and gre test prep. Hope this helps

  4. I hear you. I am in the exact same situation. I would suggest taking the PSAT in October of this year and getting a book  (collegeboard, barrons,or kaplan) and studying for it, but not crazily just put some time into it. I would also suggest taking the SAT in spring of this year to see how you would do as the PSAT and the SAT are different. Then take a SAT class over the summer next year, and take the PSATs again. THEN STUDY!!!... and do good your sophmore and junior year in school. good luck to the both of us!
