How can I get Halal meat in my school?

As-Salāmu `Alaykum.

I am asking this question, as I and few sisters and brothers would like to see the option of Halal foods being served in our school canteens. There are alot of Muslims in my school.

But how do I manage to get my school to suply Halal meals?

by asking the principal silly..

This is an international forum..

you don't even say your city..

every Muslim I knew ALWAYS brought their own food and drink..You are not to trust us heathens  and infidels...

following 2000 year old religious laws as silly as separate knives to cut cheese and meat (I know that is kosher but just as silly)

I doubt you will succeed,,, too much to expect of the caterers and the wholesalers..

Talk to the head, and the person in charge of finances n stuff at the school. Do you know any halal butchers? If so you could ask them to supply the school, and if you get a gd price i spose the school would be more than willing to incorporate halal food into their catering =]

*but it may nt be as simple as that cz they probably to risk assements and stuff like that, youre best bet is 2 voice youre idea to the administrive team at ure skl...if they say no write a petition or something...*

Get kind of a petition thing going with all the children and their parents to sign in favor of getting halal food and show it to the board.

I think it's great that you want to start something like this. I dont have many muslims in my school, and the ones that we do have eat haram (which i hate--i only eat halal A.H.), so hopefully InshaAllah you can make a change for the better.

You could see about presenting this idea to the school board.

Talk to the school district, they should be able to accommodate it as a dietary restriction.

The same is done for kosher meals.

They have to offer you the option, but maybe it hasn't been brought to their attention.
