How can I get a Copyright for my poems?

I am a teenager hailing from India, I want to know the procedures involved in getting a copyright for my work, including the fees involved.

I am from hyderabad.

There is nothing you need to do. India is both a Berne convention country and a UCC country, so all you need to do is write them and you hold copyright automatically. You do not need to include a notice of any kind, though it's probably a good idea.

Edit: You say, "my plea wasn't heard as I didn't have a copyright". Who said that? You do have copyright. If you wrote it, you have copyright automatically. Now *proving* you have copyright may be a challenge, but you have it.

u need patent rights in multiple countries.go to www.wipo.org where you find how many people got there patents.you get pretty inf..however in india it is of not much use.your poems ,or the central idea,the way it is`rendered can easily be copied,plagiarised and can claim their own.what the film people doing now for their vedeo p****y?do not worry much on patents.get your poems published in some good magazines.it itself is your patent.

you simply write "copyright @ 2008 YourName" and that's it - go to www.wipo.org

By posting them to a public forum like Yahoo!, you are affixing a time and date stamp on them, with a signature.

it is a legal question , so it is better to approch any nice book's publisher groups, they will publish your poems also and they provide copyrights to your poems , other wise try to contact any lawyer , these people can advise you.
