Question:

How can I get a DVD R to work in my HD-DVD player?

It has a tv show recorded on it. If I put it in my laptop, one of the video players (Interactual, Real Player, or Windows Media) can see the shows and play them (although it keeps freezing: pausing for a couple of minutes, then playing about 15 seconds again).

In my HD-DVD player in my media room -- where the player says "DVD" for a normal dvd -- the player now says "CD Player" (since it must think the DVD r is a CD). It shows two folders: audio_ts and video_ts. When I choose either one, however, it doesn't show anything (so there's nothing to play).

Why does this work in my laptop and not my dvd player??

  1. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.

  2. Theres a possibility that the dvd was burned in an incorrect format for the HD-DVD player to read it.
