you can get sim from almost anywhere.........at kiosks and many such shops.

Well u can just get a SIM card from dealers that deal in local shops. Or u can go to the network providers office and ask for a SIM. They can give u a SIM which has abt 1 month or 2 months validity and all..Its not so complicated..

Plenty of shops sell them. You see the advertisement outside in some cases, or enquire in shops which sell mobile phones, even grocery.

you need some proof of your identification, address etc. Varieties like BSNL (govt outlets)

airtel, tataindicom, reliance are available on different terms.

submit your passport copy along with your valid visa page(may be needed). also photo. go to authorised dealer. do not believe people those who offer sim cards with out taking identity proof. it is against law. also a crime.

i think u should go for matrix cards........they are relli gud n are made for tourist who come 2 india as well as go abroad.....          tata indicom and relaince are also good once.......u can get the connection as well as hand set jus for a few hundread.its relli cheap..

SIM cards are easily available across the counter anywhere in India. All they need is a proof of your address, for which you can give a copy of your driving license, PAN card or passport.
