How can I get a bigger arch in my foot ..for ballet and pointe?

  1. releves lots of releves   and u can buy bands (they look like giant rubber bands) to improver your arch  just alot of foot exersizes  stuff that you would do in ballet and pointe class


  2. I don't know that there is any way. Because I had flat feet I couldn't take ballet. If you have some arch exercise may help strengthen them.

    Your ballet teacher should know what they are.

  3. Regular class with a trained teacher will help you to maximise your own potential, including using and making the most of your feet. Tendus (slow) focussing on *extension* of the toes and using the ankles correctly are ESSENTIAL.  Your toes should NOT be scrunched over (which may make your arch look more curved) the toes should stretch out LONG.

    It is simply amazing what you can do with just tendu practice.

    Talk to your teacher for additional exercises that are appropriate to you and your feet. Those silly 'arch enhancers' are a waste of money and impress no-one.

    Pursue your dream: dance and enjoy it. Money will not buy you a good arch!!!!

Oh, and If you want something doctor approved, go for "Dr. Roth's Arch Band Supports". The bands are only $24.95 and the magnetic ones are $32.95! You can also get them at discount dance supply!

  5. 1. have your feet together

    2. find a wall and place your hands flat on it.

    3. bend your knees

    4. rise onto demi pointe  ( knees still bent )

    5. push your feet forwards not moving

    6. rise up with legs straight onto demi pointe

    7. repeat.

    this helps your arches and strangthens your feet and legs

  7. You can buy different arches to put in your shoes. This will give you a larger arch in your foot.

  8. 1. use archsupporters in your shoes for everyday life

    2. roll your feet on a tennis ball right before you go to dance, the pointe will also get better

  9. you cant make your arch bigger, but you can stretch it, or use arch enhancers. i saw an add in Pointe magazine, the are not very expensive, and they are just like tights that go over just your arch, except they are a jelly material.

    also: bunheads brand theraband, it comes with good streatches to do, and helps strengthen the rest of your leg also
