How can I get a cab without a phone?

call ahead (depending where the taxi is picking you up

sometimes the taxi company wont send the taxi unless you

are already waiting there,, If its a 24 hour business place

you always ask the clerk to call the taxi for you

(like a grocery store)

this sort happen to me I wanted to make an advance

pick up request at  Starbucks in Malibu but the taxi company

told I had to be there before they would send the taxi)

If you know in advance, you can request a "time call." That means a taxi will arrive at the appointed time and place. This can be placed from a home phone or a business phone or a pay phone.

Some taxi companies now require credit card information when you call, this protects the driver from criminals who call for a taxi in order to to rob the driver (which is a felony crime), and from young "wannabe" thugs who would run away without paying (which is also a crime).
