  1. Police reports are not generally available to the public. Information in them can be damaging. The only way, for sure, to get a police report is through discovery procedures in court proceedings. The court will ask the prosecution to turn over the police report to the defense, and all other information against the accused.

  2. Are you a party to police report?

The police report itself is not public information, it is to be used by all parties involved to determine charges, liabilities, and channel of prosecution (if any). The only eventual public information is the result or determination of the case: convicted, expunged, not guilty, etc.

The reasoning behind this is that the report does not include all rellevent facts of the case and could easily be used to create an assumed guilt where none really exists.

  3. First you need to demonstrate a legal right to the copy of the police report. You have not yet.

Once you are charged you will be able to get a copy of the report.
