How can I get a copy of my German certificate?

I really want a copy of mine, also I heard from many people that you have to be born in Germany to be an official citizen, is this true?

There are exceptions. If your parents were German Jews and fled in the 1930's then you could have been born elsewhere but otherwise YES.
