A dream of mine has been to work as a taster at a whiskey distillery. Jack Daniels or Maker's Mark would be my top choices. What would I need to do to get into this field?

  1. You can get a chemical engineering degree at most universities. At the University of California, Davis they teach specific courses in wine making, brewing, and distillation. They also have a great concentration in sensory science in the Food Science Dept.

    From the Extension Courses

Best Uni for distillation and good for brewing as well.

    Education leads to employment.

  2. Get a chemistry degree and focus on organic chemistry. "Taster" jobs are held by master distillers, it isn't something you fall into unless your last name is "Beam".
