How can I get a natural tan and fast??

I am really pale and skinny but I just wanted to know how often and how long I should sit outside by my pool? And should I wear sunscreen? And will it be permanent or temporary?

    wear OiL, sunoil.

    &; lay out in the sun for a couple hours a cool yourself off with the hose ever so often.

  2.   It is important to understand what a suntan actually is. For the most part, a suntan is simply the release of melanin into the skin. Obviously, some racial groups simply stock more of it than others (the more melanin, the darker the skin tone). However, if a normally pale person becomes darker, this is actually the body's response to damage to your skin through UV exposure. UV burns the skin, the body responds by producing more melanin, as this actually helps stave off further damage. However, if you're simply genetically meant to be pale, your body may not produce this pigment with any degree of efficiency, so, you may not notice any changes other than burns. At any rate, as tanning is a direct response to injury, one can easily see that this process is inherently dangerous. Make sure you check your local weather reports, because, often times, there will be advisories to just how long you should be out in the sun, period. Please be very careful, because, as a naturally pale person, you're almost certainly at an increased risk of skin cancer as it is. Make sure you wear your sun screen (it'll make you tan less quick, but it's far safer if you intend to go through with this...).

  3. The damage done by the sun is permanant....the tanning benefits are temporary. Might not be obvious now, but in 20 years you'll kick yourself.  Tanning binges are worse for your skin and health than constant exposure.  

    Embrace being pale. When you're 40 you'll look years younger than your contemporaries.

    I'm sorry I didn't technically answer your question, but I've seen too many people my age (28) looking like c**p already because they sun-binged in their youth.

  4. well obviously laying out is the only thing you really can do. however, if your near or at a beach, go in the ocean! the sun reflects off the ocean water so it hits your face and upper body with a greater intensity. seriously-- me and my sister both go to the beach for a week. she lays out the whole time whereas i lay out sometimes but am mostly in the water and im always like 5 times tanner than her.

  5. why get a tan??? it makes ur skin age faster----don't believe me??? come over here and i will show u my aunt----not to mention risk of skin cancers---why does everyone want a tan anyway??? if god intended us to be dark,he would have made us that way

  6. Do not sit outside in the sun.  Buy a self tanning lotion for the face.  Loreal makes one and so does Jergens and a lot of other cosmetic companys.  You can find them at Target.

  7. Well i used to be pale and wanted to get tan.

    I used a tanning oil with sunscreen in it.

    banana boat.

    Lay out by your pool and switch sides every 15 minutes.

    make sure to do your sides!!!!

    Do this  twice a day and you will get dark!

  8. You should wear sunscreen to get a nice even tan without drying or peeling. With really pale skin you could wear spf 35 and just lay out for maybe an hour a day until you're as dark as you want to be. Your tan won't develop while you're outside, a few hours after you come inside you'll really be able to tell how dark you got.  

  9. Use sunscreen and instead of getting tan by the sun purchase a self tanning product (e.g. Jergans natural glow).  Your skin will thank you when you are older and you don't have sun damage.

If you're really pale, start out with SPF 30.  Lie out every day on you front side from 11am to noon, and then lie on your back side from noon to 1.  These are the hours of the day when the sun's rays are strongest.  After a week, you can go down to SPF 15.  Once you've reached the color you want, just lie out 2 to 3 times a week to maintain it.  It will fade about two weeks after you stop lying out.

  13. You should always wear sunscreen to protect your skin, and don't worry it won't stop you getting a tan. I would sit out in the sun for no more than 4 hours, and it will be temporary.  

  14. i'm pretty pale too. i sat out in the sun for about 4-6 hours on day..barely wore sunscreen and i burned on my face, shoulders, stomach, and back.

    my legs got tan..lol. But it was temporary.

  15. To get a more even tan, wear tanning oil that has an SPF on it so your skin is still protected. Just swim in the pool: you will get a more even tan this way. Your tan will probably we there for the rest of the summer and fade out at the end of September, I'm guessing.

  16. h-town, heat has nothing to do with getting a SUN tan.

    sunscreen takes a while to get a tan with, but it comes out much more even and it's safer [x

  17. if i were yhu i would go to a tanning bed and wear tanning oil.

    thats faster.

    or sit out in the sun w/ tannin oil but make sure its SUPER hot out

    but yes, you should wear sunscreen outside, because if you dont't, you'll burn not tan (& that HURTS!)

    i suggest you wear some tan enhancer like this from ocean potion:

    i used it when i went on vacation and i got tan! haha

    (plus it smells like fruit loops! (:)

    and then over that wear some sunscreen because that up there has no sun protection.

    it'll last you about a month or maybe more.

  19. I just go outside and play a sport or something.  It seems like when I'm very active I tan better.
