I'm a 30 year old Irish guy based in Asia. I was told I need AUS$5,000 in my bank account and I can get a one-year visa for Oz in a few days - is this true? Are there any service fees involved? thanks

  1. if you plan to apply for this visa you must do so before you turn 31 as the cut off age is 30

  2. Hi! :)

    You're referring to a working holiday visa, right? This visa allows you travel around Australia for 12 months with the option of part-time or casual employment. You can apply for it online, take an online assessment to determine if you're eligible to apply for a working holiday visa.

    Requirements includes:

    * Age of 18 - 30

    * Have no dependent children

    * You must have sufficient funds (generally deemed to be at least- AU$5,000) to support your trip and purchase a return airfare

    You can check it out here http://www.nationalvisas.com.au/working/... for more info and how to apply for it online.

    Since a working holiday visa is a temporary visa, as a temporary resident visa holder, you will generally not be entitled to receive public health care (Medicare) or any other social security benefits.
