Question:

How can I get a particular cell phone number?

I would like a particular number that spells out the name of my business. Is there a way to find out who is selling that number, or better yet, can a cell phone company just 'issue' it if I ask for it? I tried phoning Cricket to find out, and possibly switch to them as my carrier, but they suck - I was given the run-around.

I’ve tried dialing the number with all the area codes in my area, and in each instance it is available (shows to be non-active or disconnected).

Anybody???

  1. Just ask at the cell phone store.  I have a friend who has his first name as a part of his business phone.  I suspect that he simply requested those digits.  When my family all got cell phones (four lines) we all requested phone numbers that matched the last four digits of our home phone.

  2. just ask if one store dosent have it try another state mabye or another wireless store

  3. Wireless numbers are owned by each company.  They are assigned in blocks.  You could have to search around to see who owned the number that you want, but I honestly don't know whether they can assign a wireless number like they could do the business land lines in the old days!
