How can I get a pen mark out of couch fabric?

One of my kids scribbled on our couch and I have no idea how to get it out. I'm not sure what fabric it's made of, but it's soft and if you rub it a certain direction it gets a little darker and lighter the opposite direction....

  1. Alcohol takes ink out but I'd try it in a hidden area first in case it ruins the fabric

  2. It sounds like your have microfiber couch. Try regular resolve or some other carpet cleaner. If that doesnt work go to a furniture store and ask for a microfiber cleaner. It will do wonders.

We had a microfiber couch that we spilled stuff on constantly, from syrup to juice to dog pee, and the cleaner was super easy and quick to use, and it got everything out.

  3. I know the fabric you are talking about, we have a chair made out of it. My daughter recently colored on it in crayon. We used OxyClean laundry stain remover. Its in a blue spray bottle, works really really well. The chair looks like new. Be careful not to get the fabric too wet or it can change the color.

  4. if you are desperate just flip the coushin over thats what i do when i make messes on my couch

  5. Try hairspray- any kind.  It works on laundry, and also on furniture.  I've gotten permanent ink off of a suede-like fabric couch before.  And, when my son scribbled all over a cream colored leather chair with a sharpie, I sprayed hairspray on it & it just ran off!  Test a small area first.  Spray the hairspray on & let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it down with a wet white washcloth.
