How can I get a remote for my camera?

Photography is a huge hobby of mine. I just started out. I have a very expensive cannon rebel FILM camera. I have a tripod too. I was wondering where I can take my camera and get a remote activated so u can take pictures far away without using the timed camera setting and running! My ex did it with his digital camera but i dont want to ask him. does it have to be digital? how much does this usually cost? he took is to kodak i think.

You neglected to tell us which model 35 mm Canon Rebel you own.  A good guess is that it has a cable release access point on the shutter release button.  If it does, you can buy a pneumatic cable release that can be as long as 25 feet .. some up to 50 feet and use it to fire your cameras shutter.

If your version of the Rebel uses a wireless remote, then you just have to search Canon's website for the appropriate one for your camera
