Lol. I really need a drivers license and Im over 18 but I also lost my social security card. When I looked it up on the website, it says in order to apply for a new social security card I NEED a drivers license . What other supporting documents will they accept since I dont have/cant get one.? Help!

  1. We can accept only certain documents as proof of identity. An acceptable document must be current (not expired) and show your name, identifying information (date of birth or age) and preferably a recent photograph. For example, as proof of identity Social Security must see your:

    U.S. driver’s license;

    State-issued nondriver identification card; or

    U.S. passport.

    If you do not have one of these specific documents or you cannot get a replacement for one of them within 10 days, we will ask to see other documents, including:

    Employee ID card;

    School ID card;

    Health insurance card (not a Medicare card);

    U.S. military ID card; or

    Adoption decree.

    it does not say you NEED a drivers license.

  2. $20 out back of the DMV can get you a driver's license, no questions asked.

  3. thats bull s h i t!  my parents lost mine when i was little and when i wanted to get my permit i couldnt.  go online and there is a form you have to fill out for the social security office and send it to them...it sucks though because it takes like 6-8 weeks to get but you will get it.

  4. you have entered another dimension, not often visited, but i have been there myself~!!!

    you are in the Twilight Zone, good luck, and i hope you make it back all in one piece, with sound mind and body~!!!

    the dude above me has got ya covered~!!!
