Question:

How can I get a sponsor?

I would like to do more shows around my zone, and even around the country. Right now, though, we can only afford shows that are close, and less than one a month.

I am competing in Childrens Jumpers, and doing very well. I was wondering if a company would be interested in sponsoring someone competing in childrens.

Also, how can i get a sponsor? would we talk to them and send my results for the past year?

  1. I got sponsored by a local car dealership, kinda helped that my dad new him really well.lol, dad was sitting down having a beer and said, stop being a tight as and sponsor me daughter (as a total random joke) he was like, ok, how do i do that! lol, dad was like wat??? ha??? lol. I got rugs and saddle cloths, etc (stuff that he could advertise his company on), But a saddlery also sponsored me, i just went and approached the saddlery, found out who else they sponsored, took a portfolio of my sucess, a picture of both me and my horse/s, rote down my ambitions, where i intended to be in 5 years. How long id been riding, all the general stuff about me. Than i done up a minni one of my horse that i was competing at the time, (if you have several choose a few that have the most lengthened career and sucess etc), just rote a few cute things, favourite memories, and funny moment etc, age, colour, name etc. I only approached the one saddlery as they got back to me within a week! So there was no need to go any further! they had someone come out and watch me at the next competition i was entering, and within 1 month i had been singed up! It was great, I live in an extreamly remote area and they helped with travel expenses and riding gear. I didn't require alot of help, as my folks were keen to do whenever i set my mind to something, but it did just take the edge off general expenses! Hope this helps!

  2. I show in small local shows right now. But soon about a month or so will start showing in AQHA shows. Are local AQHA show barn the rose place , it like 200plus a show.  Not including are trainers fee. My dad use to race and has always thought that would be great for horse shows.  Although I have never seen any one have any, but the big wigs. But hay start the new trend , I would love to be second in line lol.

  3. Talk to local companies. Taking your past results would be an advantage. Don't expect every company to be willing to sponsor you. Maybe your parents' employers would sponsor you?

Hmmm. That makes it tough. How about the other law firms that associate with your dad's? Also try some companies in your area. Local grocery store, shoe shops, anything really. If you have a tack shop, that would be a good place to try.

  4. Show off :) Get your fellow riders' attention. Show your horse love and compassion and make him work to his potential. Don't show any fear and always welcome challenges. You always need to be one step ahead of your horse in the thought process. Any credible sponsor who sees this will jump all over you. You can't really walk up to people and say "Hey, sponsor me" you need to be noticed first. Then they should approach you.
