How can I get a stain out of my sofacover?

I have a brand new sofa cover and I have what looks to be oil stains on it and I have no idea how they go there. I washed it and now there seems to be more. . . what can I do??

Sofa cover is a tan colour and material is cordoroy.

use Dawn dish liquid for greasy/oily stains

The original blue one. The others don't work.
