How can I get a webcam conversation to work?

Alright is there a way (On Windows Live messenger) to set up a webcam conversation if only one person has a webcam? Heres the problem: I dont have a webcam, but my friend does, wen we try it doesnt work,saying i need software; the example it gives is "manycam"; so i download it,install and still doesnt work; anyone got any suggestions?

You need a digital camara to plug in your computer pot (must be on front/back when u plug in the pot), then your wabcam digital camara will come up on your screen and you can see a picture/video of yourself if you move the digital camara by facing you. That how you need to get one. Which/whom camara has for the webcam? It available in Target Store but it cost money, so you are welcome and be careful which price you are looking for because you don t want to get the wrong one by wasting your parents money. Farewell.
