I have been vegetarian for 4 years. Vegetarianism coupled with depression has led to hair loss. My dermatologist recommended I eat meats such as chicken and fish. I want to know what portions should I be eating, how often and what are all the benefits? I just want my hair back. Thank you

  1. The serving size for meat  is the size of a deck of playing cards, and for fish, the size of your check book. The healthiest meat is turkey, followed by chicken. Bake it, broil, or boil it and take off the skin and any fat you might see. You can have a serving or two of these lean white meats every day if you want.

The healthiest fish to eat is salmon that was caught in the wild, not farm raised. You can't have fish as often but I believe salmon can be eaten at least once a week. Light tuna is also good for you. These fish and meats supply mostly protein and the fish have omega fatty acids that your body needs. See my sources for further details.
