How can I get an internship for a company without college credit?

I am very interested in possibly getting an internship with a hospital. The only problem is that I am an undergraduate at a university. The hospital says it only takes applicants that are doing the internship for college credit but my school won't give credit because I haven't taken the right courses yet. It's a Catch-22! does anybody have any ideas about how to solve this?

Try a different hospital or instead of interning do volunteer work at the hospital.
