How can I get better internet connection speed?

I have cox and used to own a linksys wireless

-g router. I thought the router was the problem because every thirty minutes or so the internet would stop working or take about a minute to load each page. Everytime this happened I would unplug the router and plug it back in thirty seconds later & it would work much better (for about thirty minutes) So my dad went out and bought an apple airport. ( I own a mac) the internet work perfectly for one day but the next day everything went back to how it was ( crappy) PLEASE HELP!!! I am a teenager and I live off the Internet. What can I do

You shouldn't live online, it is better to study, get a 4.0, and so on while you are in school.

Your problem will most likely be fixed if you get a new wireless adapter. To test it, when your internet stops working well, turn off your wireless card, then turn it on. You may think it is because of the router, but it can be from the card. When the connection is broken, it resets. One way to break the connection is turning off the router or wireless card. You have changed the router, so the problem is in the wifi card. Get a new one (about $38 if you are cheap, dont go over $70). I recommend a USB for your laptop.

If that doesn't work, you can just use an ethernet cable.
