Someone gave my 2 boys some toys and she is a heavy smoker. They smell just awful. I washed them in hot soapy water, but it did nothing. Are they a lost cause?

  1. If bleach and vinegar solutions don't do the trick a somewhat awkward approach might.  Take Vodka and put it in a tub with a ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part Vodka.  Vodka is very good and removing smells like cigarette smoke, but if the stench is buried deep in the toys even something like intense Vodka treatment won't fix the issue.  The best option is to usher in some new toys.  Hope that helped.

  2. fill the bath up with cold water and add fabric conditioner to it leave the toys to soak over night does the trick

  3. wash them in 2 parts water and 1 part clorox and let them air dry hang them out side!

  4. Pine sol works to get rid of the tar that hangs onto things from cigarette smoke. Just rinse well after you clean off the toys.

  5. Try some bleach/water..equal parts..this will kill any germs anyways.  If this fails..trash...GOOD LUCK!!

  6. try soaking them in a bucket of warm water and baking soda but it might be a lost cause

  7. I would say use white vinegar.  It is good for just about anything and it is non toxic.  The smell will evaporate after a while.
