Hi.

I have recently bought my daughter a nintendo DS lite. I have been told there is some sort of cart thing you can get to put loads of games on or something. As you can probably tell i know nothing about these things so if anyone can give me a full run down of what I need and how to it etc I would be grateful

  1. there is no card thing. you are proably thinking of the games for it. the games are like little cards that you put in. there pretty small.

  2. It's called an R4.

    You download ROMs from www.romulation.net

Here's a tutorial on how to get it working.

    http://martinaquino.wordpress.com/2008/0...

Also, it is illegal, so watch out.

  3. Just to tell you now.

It is p****y, and it is illegal if you use commercial games.

But if you want to go through with it I suggest you go to http://gbatemp.net.

They have reviews of flash carts, and if they're in a good mood they'll help you out a lot.

  4. Right, if it's an R4 you need to go to their official site, which is here: http://www.r4ds.com/

You'll need to download the latest kernel. If you're not using the R4, you might have to go on the site for whatever Card you got.

For DS games, go to http://www.nds-roms.com

Now get your Micro SD card, your memory card adaptor, and plug the memory card into the adaptor, then that into a USB port on your computer.

Copy and paste the kernel (if you are using the R4) into the memory card.

Select the games you downloaded and want on the card, and copy and paste them onto the Micro SD card.

Now take the Micro SD card out, put it back into the Card (the R4 or whatever you got), put that into the DS, turn it on, find your game, select it, let it load. Now you're playing whatever game it is :D

Any more questions? Email me at Tokiopopski@yahoo.com

    Hope I helped :D

P.S. this is illegal unless you own a legitimate copy of the game anyway. But when did that stop anyone? XD

Edit: I'm making a video which I'll be uploading to YouTube on how to do all this, simply and quickly, so if you wish for the link to that when I'm done, just email me :D

  5. http://forums.hexus.net/nintendo-gaming/...

"I think you're talking about a Flash Cart which goes into slot 1, these can use smaller MicroSD cards to play ROMs and other homebrew stuff. R4 is the most popular, but CycloDS has a few more features for money and there's anothe rnewcomer coming with some fancy talk. Just don't get a DSX, it's overpriced and overhyped."

  6. Getting the flash memory chip etc is easy, as they're for sale any where.  Getting hold of the games to go on the chip is hard and illegal ... I know they exist, but I don't now how you'll get your hands on them...

See the link I've given you.  The small chip goes intot he memory card, you transfer the games over, then you insert the small chip into a blank DS game ...
