How can I get from Springfield, ma to Tyler texas via train?

You need to take Amtrak 143 Northeast Regional from Springfield to Washington DC.  Then take 29 Capitol Limited from Washington DC to Chicago.  In Chicago take 21 Texas Eagle to Longview, TX.  From Longview you will need to take a bus as there is no train service.  The trip takes two days.

You can probally save yourself many hours of traveling by going from Springfield to Albany either with Greyhound or having a friend drive you and then connecting to Amtrak's Lake Shore Limited to Chicago  and then their  Texas Eagle to Longview
