How can I get from the Florence, Italy airport to the central train station station in Florence (Santa Maria Novella)? At the airport where do you find buses that will take you there, what is the name of the bus that should be taken, and what schedules do these buses run on?

Getting to the Santa Maria Novella Train Station from the Florence Airport (Amerigo Vespucci Airport).

Taxi

It's about a 15 minute journey from the airport to SMN Central Florence Rail Station.

The cost is approximately €15/16.

Bus

There is a bus which runs every 30 minutes from the airport to SMN Central Florence Rail Station which is about a 20 minute journey.

Tickets are available from Florence airport for €4 and the bus leaves from outside the Arrivals Hall to Sita bus station which is located just outside the SMN Central Florence Rail Station.

The Bus is called ‘Volainbus’- ‘fly by bus’.
