That girl is incredibly good, and I happened to notice her gorgeous feet. I love ballet and am aiming to be on pointe. I barely have a curve in my foot when I point my feet. Are people just born with those kind of legs and feet or can I work at getting them? Do you have any tips or tricks to help improve my insteps? I have improved immensely in my ballet classes and it has taken me one year to get where about two or three years would get you. But my feet aren't very well-pointed...

Oh, and when I tuck in my tailbone like my teacher tells me to and to lift from my hips and hold in my stomach a bit, i clench my butt cheeks. How can I stop, or is that ok?

  1. Simple ballet exercises. ALL THE TIME.

    Any spare moment.

  2. Some people are born that way and others have to work constantly at it.  I would suggest attending  stretch classes to help.  Don't rush your training, you could seriously injure yourself by pushing your body passed it limits to quickly. Beyond that, every time you sit down, flex and point your feet.

  3. My dance teacher shared a little trick if you have a low furniture, put your feet underneath the furniture or have a friend hold down the top of your foot and you should get a really good a really good point after a few hours of doing this!

  4. well pointe shoes do make your feet look better...

but if you want a good arch and good ankles (this

will help for pointe too) do a lot of releves!!

    also get a theraband:

just keep at it. eventually you will see results and

you will have a really good arch!!

also if you are tightening your butt when you lift

up, its okay. and good. just remember to turn

out from your hips also :]
