I've been teasing my hair for years, but it is starting to take its toll. Not to mention it's a pain in the neck! I have really, and i mean really flat straight hair. Does anyone have any tips to get great volume without further damaging my hair? And also if you have any products you would recommend for me, that would be great. thanks in advance!

this is what i want to achieve:

  1. follow these steps

    #  Spritz just a bit of volumizing spray all throughout your hair, being careful not to over-saturate. A list mist will do it!

    #  Flip your hair upside down and use the blow dryer to heat the roots only. Leave the heat on each 2-3 inch section for five seconds and then move to the next, all while keeping your head flipped upside down. Repeat the process, and then use the "cool" switch to cool each section. Important: Hair must be cooled before you flip back up, or the style will not stay!

    #  Add a light mist of hair spray to the roots before flipping hair back over and allow it to dry.

    # Spray a bit of shine spray on the ends and middle of your hair after you flip it back over, but do not spray it directly on the top or the lift will deflate (too much oil in shine sprays!).

    # Be careful not to overheat each section of hair. Use your own discretion on how long to leave the blow dryer on each area.

    # Always move the blow dryer away if you can feel the heat on your scalp.

    # Be sure to allow styling products to dry before applying the blow dryer, as they can cause hair to heat up much faster.

  2. Her hair looks totally unnatural, like a wig. I have straight, flat hair, too. I just wear it like it was meant to be.

  3. there are certain shampoos & serums you can buy, but i have no idea if they work .

i would say, wear it natural . because you haven't for years ! strait is in (:

  4. Try using hot rollers.  Once they're fully heated, use the bigger rollers for full waves like the picture has.  Remember to use them on hair that is completely dry and not to roll the rollers too tight or you'll get tight curls instead of loose.

The best volumizing product I have ever used.

I'd have to agree with the roller suggestion. Hot rollers or ones you put in wet and let your hair dry are the best.

I'd recommend steering away from the velcro rollers - yes they're easier but they would cause more harm than good in your case.
