preferably the pre-algebra and up to calculus...so i'll probably be teaching 6-12...I have a B.S. in engineering, but would like to get into teaching and I hear that math teachers are in much need, especially where I live (Phoenix). What do I need to get started teaching? Just a teaching certificate from a local community college?

Here's a link to help you get started.  You are a career changer and you need an alternative licensure program for middle or high school.  (This kind of depends based on the state.  It may be a 6-12, 6-8 or a 9-12 math license.)  Best wishes.
