  1. Just buy a CPL (comprehensive personal liability) policy.

  2. roadreeler57, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I'm not familiar with all the fine print of my homeowners policy, but my homeowners insurance agent is always helpful. Try calling your agent or a homeowners agent in your town. http://www.usinsuranceadvisor.com/Home-I... They will be able to assist you.

  3. Well, you just go to a local agent, and tell them you want general liability coverage on the house.   Or, buy a tenant homeowners policy, which has just liability and contents coverage.

Now, that's not REALLY what you want.  Tell me if I'm right.  What you REALLY want, is cheaper insurance.

The CHEAPEST way to insure, is a package deal - homeowners or renters insurance, which covers both the house, contents and liability, or contents and liability.  But you certainly can buy liability stand alone if you want.  BUT, it's more expensive.  Standalone liability STARTS at $750.   You could pick up a renters policy for under $200, just about anywhere.

And, of course, if your house burns down and there's no insurance, no one pays you anything.

  4. why would you only want liability ? - what happens if you house burns down or is damaged in a storm? liability won;t cover those things - call an insurance agent
