I drive the ball around 200-210 yards. I like to swing the club nice and easy and I am not a big guy.

  1. if u like to swing easy use a regular or light flex shaft. That'll give u some xtra snap.  Also a club with a bigger head...460cc

  2. I recomend getting a lesson.

  3. Tee the ball up so that the center of the club face hits it every time.  Try a more flexible shaft.  If you are using a stiff shaft, try a regular.  Look at Golf Magazine's "X-Factor" article, I used it and gained about 12 yards on my tee shots.

  4. Well your not a big guy that's your answer. Sorry but big athletic golfer slam the ball but if your at least 5-9 then that's a different story. The key for more power with the driver is hand

speed you need to work on that to create more whip and power. People say width is important and it actually is to a point but some manipulations must occur for and average guy to hammer it 300 yards. First you must have a super set up very aligned and balanced. Next you must make sure you coil all your weight into your right side to store energy. Ever thing after that requires timing and extra hands speed will definitely help in the down swing. Think Sergio Garcia for more power!!

    I love this vid!

Notice how fast the club moves from the top of his swing, notice his hands.

Then, later in the swing, near impact, notice how fast his hands are moving compared with how fast the head is moving. This is called whip and it generates club head speed.

His hands move fast at first, the club head is still up, he holds the angle of a very long time, then just before impact he lets it go, and whips through the ball.

Tiger’s swing is sick!! It takes a tremendous amount of coordination and strength to generate that kind of swing. But you can learn form it.

    Good luck!!

  6. heres an idea. Pick a real sport. Go play basketball, soccer anything even if its softball in a churchleauge.

  7. Your nice and easy swing is a great candidate for a longer shafted driver. Try a 47" or 48" shafted driver. Your buddies may razz you for a while but the added length to the shaft will give you an added 12 mph to 14 mph club head speed and 18 to 20 more yards. You have to try it to believe it.

  8. If you have a low ball flight go for more loft in your driver and/or a shaft with a low kick point to get it up. Try a few different balls as well. I use the now out dated Srixon Z-URS, half the wedge of the URC and Pro V's etc... and just as good. There is a huge difference with the tour balls, less spin with the flatter clubs  = more distance. The biggest reason by far for the extra distance these days is ball technology not the clubs, the clubs (especially drivers) are just easier to hit. FYI a few years ago Geoff Ogilvy hit one of Bob Shearer's 70's vintage persimmon drivers and one of his current ones for TV when he was out here in Australia. The persimmon was only about 10-15 yards shorter, or 5%.

  9. Try adding rotation to your hip and shoulder turn. The farther you turn, the more momentum you have the ability to gain. Work on flexibility, and core strengthening. This can help.
