I play high school rugby in NJ, and I would like to watch the Rugby World Cup and see some games in the UK and New Zealand, but how can I see these games from here? Where can I see more rugby?

  1. Megan G is correct.  However the world cup is only on pay per view.  About 250 for the tourney.  The bars are going to be charging about $20 per game.  Good luck.  Sorry that the IRB and USA Rugby hates you that much that they did not get the games on regular broadcast or basic cable.

  2. First of all I would check around your city for local club teams for men and women.  Usually summer is 7's season for clubs, meaning 7 people per side, 7 minute halves on the same size field.  The play is much quicker and a lot different than 15's, but its interesting to watch.  No room for a missed tackle.  Watching as much rugby as you can will help your understanding of the game.

Unfortunately, we dont have much televised rugby.  but if you have Direct TV- you can get the Setanta channel (all soccer, union rugby, rugby league, and australian rules football).  I don't have it in my house, but most irish pubs do have it and if the games are during meal times, i bet you could get in to eat and watch.  (sports bars usually have it too!)

I havent really investigated rugby on the internet but i constantly get e-mails for- RugbyChannel.MediaZone.com (see link below).  It might be worth checking out?  has anyone tried this??

  3. if you have dish network you can order satanta or you can search online for a local Irish or English pub which might have rugby.
