To trust me and not bite me? I let him out of his cage and he is fine as long as he is not close to my hands and if he is he bites me.....he loves to sit on my foot and I can wiggle my toes and he doesn't do nothing and even does the wolf whistle at my toes.....when he is on my shoulder or my knees he constantly bites me and I tell him no and I even give him treats when he goes back in the cage and doesn't bite me but that is very rare....I want to be able to have him on my shoulder without biting me constantly....granted they don't really hurt but it does when he bites my face......please help.....I have every kind of treat and he doesn't care his favorite thing is Spray Mullet and I give him that when he is good but he doesn't know the difference......I stick my hand in his cage slowly to change his water and food and he launches at me to bite me and I tell him no and he still does it and I tell him in a nice but firm voice and still doesn't help....please help

  1. I found someone on YouTube that does some good videos to help bird aggression and other problems.  Her user is: nabrudigam

There's quite a few that are hopefully helpful!  I'll post a link to her biting tutorial.  She works with parrotlets but her methods seem basic for most bird.

  2. hi

let it get to know you. when your changing its food talk nicely to him/her and keep your hand in there for a couple of minutes. or until it stops flapping round when it sees your hand. make sure that it is looking at your hand and then pull it out of the cage. do this for about a week and then when it stops flying everywhere at the sight of your hand then just slowly but carefully move your hand closer and closer to it. if it flies away do this again... if it flies away 4 times in a row tell it that it is a good bird for trying and try again tomorow. keep doing this until your hand can be right next to its feet and it wont fly away.

hope this helps and good luck

  3. I know how you feel. I have two lovebirds. Butch and Sundance. Sundance doesn't bite, but butch tears the living out of my hands. I went onto the website and looked for videos or suggestions. So, I bought myself a video created by bird tricks.com. Their videos are a little expensive, but it does work. Now butch and sundance aren't biting anymore. I love them to death. You have to be patient with your bird. It takes time and patience. I still can't stick my hands in the cage without getting bitten, it's because they are protective about their house and stuff, but they don't bite anymore when I take them out or when they are perching on my shoulder. Butch used to attack the side of my right eye corner. The thing is to turn your head quick, so your bird doesn't get your face. They don't mean to bite, they are just afraid. So, be patient.
