It was given to me back in 2002 as a gift. A friends father just gave me the bike said have fun with it. I picked it apart and cleaned everything on it and now that I finished the bike I can't seem to figure out where I stashed the title. It was a michigan title that had been signed over to me and ready to go, but I never actually went through with the leg work. Now that its finished and gas is 4$ a gallon I'd really like to get it plated for the road. Is there any grandfather laws where I can just say its over 30 years old and title it in Mass without the original? I am almost positive the last time it was ridden was in 1975/76, it only got 2000 miles of use.

  1. If you lost the title, you will have to contact the owner and have them apply for a duplicate title.  It will cost them something, so offer to pay.  Once they have it, they can sign it over to you again, and you can do the transfer.
